The knock-out stage is now confirmed for the 15th European Championship and for the first time there is a last 16 stage of the tournament and there are a few teams that have shocked a few, admitting myself being one. When i wrote my prediction for who would make it into this stage after seeing the first two rounds of fixtures, I could not see a few teams making it but fair enough they did. The likes of Republic of Ireland and Iceland I thought would not quite have enough but they both pulled off fantastic results in the final group stage game. On the other hand the likes Portugal, Spain and England really did not do what they should have done, although Ronaldo finally performed, as a team Portugal just don't seem to tick with the defensive fragility and poor tactics just does not seem to go well with an upcoming generation of new players. The routes to the final is now very different for some teams as one side of the draw is potentially easier, whereas the other side contains Spain, Italy, France, Germany and England. This is the draw for the knock-out stage however.
