The good start to the season has quickly come to an end for Buckingham Athletic as a run of three straight wins has now been followed by a string of defeats which has led to a fall from the top of the league. This week they hosted Baldock Town who inflicted the pain as another late goal cost Buckingham the points.
A strong first half from the hosts was still disappointing as they failed to penetrate the opponents goal and take the lead. This sustained pressure was enough to fend off their own goal but a lack of clear-cut chances were ruining their chances of victory. The best chance came to Jack Carter but the keeper was equal to it and the game went into the break at 0-0.
The second half saw the visitors be a stronger side and Buckingham did not look the same. The play was not as fluid and another half of little chances saw the visitors claim as easy enough clean sheet. The game looked be won from the single goal and it was Baldock Town who got it as the forward controversially beat Josh Menday to the ball, and finished beyond Lewis Dench.
The third successive defeat now sees plenty of reasons to think for Buckingham athletic as they now aim to turn things around in order for an improvement on last seasons 8th place finish.

Neil King was controlling the tempo of the game in the first half
