Mark Carter’s side were looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat last time out. Buckingham were still near the top of the league and when they travelled to a good Biggleswade team. They were looking for a fourth win of the season heading into September with a healthy tally.
The start to the game could not have been much better for Buckingham Athletic as young prodigy Robbie Carter again showed his class as a 16 year-old to finish calmly to score his third goal of the season. The game was largely controlled by ‘The Ath’ in the first half, much to the delight of Mark Carter.
Things changed in the second half as Buckingham came out for the second half looking slightly tired and did not produce the same intensity and rhythm to their game and went 2-1 down shortly after the restart. Athletic got back into the game to draw level when Jack Menday put a good ball in for Josh Hooper, also scoring his third goal of the season, to make it 2-2. The side were unlucky as Biggleswade managed to get a soft winner in the final minutes of the game, causing Buckingham to leave pointless.
Carter was full of praise for young goalkeeper Adam Woodage, who was incredible on his debut for the first team. Nine points from five games still is not bad and the side now sit fifth in the league.

Josh Hooper scored his third goal of the season to be joint top scorer for Buckingham Athletic with Robbie Carter and Riro Oshima.
