Another Defeat for Athletic

Buckingham Athletic travelled to Bedford, who still hadn't won a game this season, but they managed to claim their first victory over ‘The Ath’ with a 1-0 win. Buckingham have now gone on a disappointing run since their impressive start and now they look to be struggling for goals after yet another 1-0 loss.

The side were looking to turn things around and get back on track to a successful campaign when they travelled to last season relegated side from the Premier Division, Bedford, but they were again on the wrong side of the score. Goals have been the problem in recent weeks and this time it was not just converting chances, but creating them in the first place.

There was control of the ball for Buckingham in the opening half, but long ball were not meeting their targets and after pushing too much for the lead, they were beaten in the break by the hosts. With Bedford pouncing on their first chance, things got worse for Buckingham, when Chris Foster had to be replaced through injury despite his positive start to the game. This did give youngster Rory Busby his debut however.

The half came to a close with disappointment in every man in blue and the second half needed to be better if the game was to be over-turned. When the whistle went to signal the start of the second half, not a lot changed from the visitors as many misplaced passes, effortless loss of possession, and hopeful long balls, meant they failed to create enough chances to trouble Bedford.

The closest they came was when Patrick Hooper saw his first time effort go wide in a game that saw little entertainment. The game ended 1-0 with Buckingham still looking to find form again.

Dan Staley's solid performance in defence was not enough to take a point
