Buckingham Athletic’s first team were beaten 1-0 from a first half goal which sees them drop to eighth in the league, which is where they finished last season. The game was disappointing for Buckingham as they should not have lost the game but the performance wasn’t good enough to get the win and goals are becoming harder to come by.
Mark Carter was disappointing with his side as he described it as “our worst performance of the season.” That shows the fact they really could have taken all three points but the first half was what let them down the most. Opponents Harefield recently travelled to Buckingham for the FA Youth Cup in which Buckingham came out on top 4-3, but this time it was the visitors or claimed the win.
The second half saw Buckingham have a few chances to make amends but the goals just don’t seem to be falling for them as much recently. The game was in the middle of a busy month as Buckingham play 7 games in September, but they will be hoping for a turn in fortunes for the remainder of the month.
The second half performance was more promising but no goals came, however chances were there to show there is something to hope for going into the remainder of the campaign.
