What's Happening at West Ham?

It may not have gone to play so far for Slaven Bilic and West Ham since the move to their new home, but is there still reason for optimism. Last season the hammers finished 7th in a disappointing term for most clubs, which left them willing to pounce on the situation. Star man Dimitri Payet may have been the perfect man for them but still needs to lift his side if they are going to improve on on last seasons finish.
It's not all doom and gloom for the Clarets as Antonio is firing and Payet shows his moments of magic but with Zaza still finding his feet, the defence looking shaky, and a crowd further from the pitch, getting used to a new home seems to be harder than expected. The results they have had are bad. Losing 3-0 at home to Southampton is awful and also 4-2 away at West Brom and at home to Watford, things look bad for the defence.
Struck with some early injuries to Feghouli and Ayew amongst others, they are still yet to play a full strength side, but dealing with what they've got has been a huge issue for Bilic. If the form continues it could see him lose his job in the next few weeks, but the best thing is probably the fact he can sit back for two weeks for the international break to assess the downfall.
The best situation would be for them to move on from the Middlesborough draw after this international break, but it's not that simple. The side are low on confidence and when it's like that you find it extremely difficult to come back but Middlesborough are probably the third best team to play at the moment after Sunderland and Stoke and they couldn't see them off. We've got to wait and see if Slavan Bilic is the one to guide the hammer back to European contention.
The squad is still strong, they have a good academy and the players they brought in the summer were decent, we just need to see if they can come together and prove this to be just a blip, or Bilic could go and you'd have to think Payet will go in January as well. Next up for them is Crystal Palace away an if they claim a win their you'd have to say it probably would be a good result now. Bilic has a busy couple of weeks to prepare.
The problem is shipping and scoring goals. This season, they have only averaged 2.7 shots on target per game, where as Everton have had 6. Also Michail Antonio is the only player at the club to have scored more than one goal this season and not one striker has scored this season. The move to the new stadium has had a lot of effects including the atmosphere, but maybe there is some extra pressure based on last season.
Andy Carroll has been injured once again and the one game he played in he was dispossessed twice and had four unsuccessful touches, the latter being more than twice as much as the next worse for that statistic. Zaza has shown nothing so far and the whole side just looks so far off what they achieved at the Boleyn Ground. Crystal Palace and Sunderland up next are seriously important games for the Hammers, if they don’t pick up at least three points, Bilic could seriously be in trouble.
