Buckingham Athletic’s first team were dealt a blow to a domestic revival, as they lost 4-0 to Codicote. They were on a high after their 3-0 win last week, however this set back makes re-thinking occur for the management team.

A young side travelled as players were missing through illness, and it proved costly as they went into half time 4-0 down, with the game already out of reach. They did in fact start well, however a sloppy goal saw them lose their confidence. Although they didn't play too badly, they did see themselves 4 down at the break, seemingly unfortunate.

The formation and shape changed at half time and the second half saw them play to a decent standard again, however no end product damaged them. Manager, Mark Carter was full of praise for their opponents, “I thought Codicote were a very strong team and I’m sure they will start to climb the league if they carry on playing like that.”

He was also impressed with the attitude of his side, “Praise must go out to the team for not letting their heads go down and trying to play football.” This may see them go into the next few weeks with a bit of confidence still.
